A NEW look for the Pre-K Program

featuring

Fanny Frog

I had presented a number of different design comps and this is the look chosen by the team. This program incorporates the company Pre-K spokes model (Fanny), custom doodle art and title type design, paired with a selection of photos which celebrate diversity.

All titles are available in English and Spanish.

The background patterns and colors had previously been selected

but had to be incorporated in the cover designs to match what had

been already used in book interiors.

 Fanny Frog and Family!

A few years ago, Frog Street Press asked me to update

their beloved mascot, AKA Fanny Frog.

Here is the Fanny puppet reading a book featuring her little brother, Fernando!

Here are a few poses of Fanny doing various activities.

Poses of Fernando and one with baby Lilly!

We ended up changing her outfit a couple of times.

These were some development sketches of the final outfit.

School at home...

I designed and illustrated these book covers and a few more,

(mostly featuring Fanny Frog)

for Frog Street Press.

This series of books needed to be adapted for parent taught at home use during the 2020 pandemic.

All titles are available in English and Spanish.

I Am A Mammal

 I Am A Mammal!

Here are a few pages from a little book that I wrote and illustrated for Frog Street Press!

FUN! FUN! FUN!

(front cover)

This was from a page that said that mammals come in all shapes and sizes.
"Some small as mice, some big as,"... you guessed it.

"Giraffes are tall with necks that are long,
Rhinos have horns and they're great, big, and strong.
Elephants have trunks that hang down to the ground,
Cheetahs have spots, and gazelles jump around."

"Walrus and seals have flippers for feet.
Otters crack oysters for something to eat.
Dolphins glide through water with help from their fins.
Whales head up north when summer begins."

(back cover)

Also a pick-up of art from the first spread.
"My teacher told me that I am a mammal.
So is a dog,...So is a camel."

Stop Bugging Me!

 Stop Bugging Me!💖

(Another one from 2020)

Some books are just plain fun to illustrate. This was one of those projects for me.

I loved this back cover as well as the front!💚

Some bugs bite!

Some bugs sting!!!

Bugs are not all bad.

Some bugs are even good!

And some bugs make us happy!

Silly Stew!

 Silly Stew!

This was a fun little book that I did more recently in 2020.

I didn't write it. I just wish that the text could have been a little sillier.

Oh well, it was still a fun one to illustrate.

Enjoy!

What do you serve 9 of your closest Monster friends?

Silly stew of course!

Sunny Day!

Sunny Day!💛

In truth, it has been a while since I did this artwork but

I thought that it was a good day to tend to my blog.

It has been several years since I have updated my poor forgotten blog.

Enjoy!

These are a couple of the cover images from some coloring books that I illustrated
for Golden Books/ Random House Children's Books in 2018.

Here's a sample of the interior black and white inked pages.
Also a blue line sketch.

This was a huge project series for me with over 128 illustrations in each book.
I'm tired just thinking about it! 😜😁
